Third in Embrunman

Victorious in 2012 and 2013, almost 10 years later, Jeanne was keen to reconnect with this legendary Embrunman race.

The Embrunman is one of the most difficult XXLs: 3.8 km of swimming, 188 km of cycling with almost 4000 meters of elevation gain followed by a hilly marathon.

Embrun is a special race for me since it's where it all began, where I launched my career.

At the end of a close race, Jeanne finished 3rd in the Embrunman in 10h59'29

Jeanne tells us about her race

"The night swim went really well for me, luckily I knew the route because the only little light from the canoe that guides us only follows the first ones!

I left 2'30 behind the leading group, in 4th position after having completed the entire course alone. From the start of the bike I felt that I had good legs, I was really happy with my choice of bike: the Shaka."

Really happy with my choice of bike! The shaka lent itself really well despite this very mountainous route!

I really had good management, I was never on overdrive, and felt like I hadn't felt for a long time in all the uphill parts. I quickly found myself in 2nd position chasing Barbara Riveros, a duel without restart until the bike was put down.

I arrive at the bike park 5' behind the leader and 12' ahead of third. I started the marathon very cautiously, with good feelings which made me think that I had managed the bike well. The pace held up for 32km, then I had to face the famous “marathon wall”. Everything became harder: moving forward, talking, eating, drinking... I stopped longer and longer at the aid stations... I fought until the end without being able to fight against the return of Justine who overtook me 1km before the start. 'arrival. Still so happy with the result!

2 months ago I wasn't even sure I would be able to do a season due to an injury and I found myself with one of my best swimming and cycling times here in Embrun!

This race remains one of my favorites, the support from the public is extraordinary, and supports us so much as athletes! I wanted to do well…for my loved ones, my partners and it’s done!
